NOISE

We are a 100% QUIET hotel. Noise levels must remain at a minimum 24/7 so as not to disturb other guests. Noise complaints may result in ejection without a refund.

SMOKE FREE

We are a 100% SMOKE FREE facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the hotel, including Sun Porches, Balconies, Verandas, and anywhere on its grounds. Any evidence of smoking inside guest rooms & attachments, or hotel facilities will result in a $400 fee in addition to the restorative expense needed to return the room to its original condition. The additional fee and cost will be charged on the guest folio before or after checkout. Please also adhere to the Nova Scotia Government rules and regulations surrounding smoking in public places. PET FREE

No pets are permitted on the premises. Registered Service animals are allowed, emotional support animals are not. Please advise us when making a reservation if bringing a service animal into the hotel so we may prepare for arrival accordingly. As per the Nova Scotia Service Dog Act please bring your verifiable Service Dog Team Certificate Identification Card issued from a recognized government body. You will need to present this at the front desk during check-in. If you do not have your government issued service dog team certificate identification card with you, we will be unable to accommodate your stay. PAYMENTS

In order for guest accommodations to be confirmed, sufficient credit credentials for payment of accommodations must be provided through the authorization of a valid credit card. Please be advised that we charge the full amount of a reservation  including taxes 3 DAYS PRIOR to check-in. A provision for booking modification charges, incidental charges, and/or damage charges may be placed on the credit account as well before or after departure. 


Accepted Methods of payment: Mastercard & Visa

Room Damages & Liability: All guests are liable for damages done to the room by themselves or others they invite into the room. Guests will be liable for the full amount to repair the damages done. The amount will be set based on repair cost, on a case by case basis. 

Taxes: Hotel stays in Nova Scotia are subject to a Canadian and Nova Scotia Government combined tax of 15% total. 

Pre-Authorization Information: In the case that a guest's room is to be paid by another party's credit card, that will not be attending the hotel and whose name is not on the booking, a pre-authorization form is required from the cardholder. This pre-authorization will allow Rum Runner Inn to use the credit card for ALL related stay charges accumulated. This form is available by email on request. 

RESERVATIONS

ALL rooms with KING beds have a maximum occupancy of two (2) persons. The room with two QUEEN beds has a maximum occupancy of three (3) persons and additional charges for the third guest. For large reservations (four or more rooms booked at one time), please contact the hotel for specialized terms and conditions catered directly to the party.

CANCELLATIONS

Reservations can be cancelled free of charge up to 3 days prior to arrival. Cancellations after this time and "no-shows" will result in the full amount of the reservation being charged to the credit card on file. Please provide notice of cancellation before 4pm Atlantic time, 3 days prior to arrival to avoid being charged for the full amount of the reservation. Cancellation notices must be received in writing and sent via the email address on file for the reservation. Reservations made through a third party booking site, must be cancelled through that site. Group and Conference reservations are subject to the cancellation and deposit policies outlined at the time of booking and may vary from standard hotel policies. 

CHECK-IN/OUT

Check-in begins at 4:00pm. The hotel will make every effort to personalize our guest's stay if provided ETA information at the time of booking, HOWEVER we CANNOT GUARANTEE an earlier check-in time will be available.

Checkout time is before 11:00am on the day of departure. Late checkout requests may be made through the front desk, and are subject to determination based on hotel occupancy. Additional charges may apply.

REFRESH/DO NOT DISTURB

In an effort to make your stay as uninterrupted as possible and to adhere to our current COVID-19 policies we avoid entering guest rooms once occupied. We are pleased to provide you with changes/replacement of any of our room standard hotel amenities you may require throughout your stay once a day in the morning (9:00am-12:00pm). Please let us know; we are only a phone call away! Please note that not all room types have exactly the same standard items offered. We make every effort to respect your privacy during your stay with us however the hotel and its staff reserve the right to enter any room or allow the authorities entry while the Do Not Disturb sign is displayed if there is cause. Reasons entry may be requested include but are not limited to; wellness checks, following up on complaints made by either in-room or other guests, and policy required cleaning/checks. All entry requests will be preceded by a knock and the announcement of which staff group is requesting entry.

LOST/LEFT ITEMS

Please remember to take all of your belongings with you when you checkout. Should we discover an item you have left behind we will hold it for a maximum of 24 hours for pickup. Once 24 hours has elapsed we will throw the item out. 

KEY RETURN

There is a $50 key replacement charge levied, if keys are not returned upon checkout. This charge will automatically be added to the guests final bill.

MINIMUM AGE

All guests must be of legal age of 18 years or older to confirm guest room accommodations at Rum Runner Inn. A valid photo ID must be presented at the time of check-in for age verification. Valid photo ID is required both for the check-in process, as well as being a necessity to process a credit card. 

PARKING

Authentic Old Town Lunenburg (where we are located) does not have designated parking for its residents or our guests. We all use the street parking available. The main streets are metered parking only from 10:00 am-5:00 pm, and all side streets near the hotel are free of charge. All overnight parking near the hotel (including the metered spots) are free from 5:00 pm onward, safe and convenient. We are located in the center of town and most sights, attractions, and restaurants are only a short walk away from the hotel.

COVID - 19

We understand Covid-19 has been an ongoing concern for this past year and will continue to remain a concern for some time to come. To alleviate these concerns we have made some changes to both our cleaning standards and policies. Masks are mandatory for all guests in hotel common areas regardless of vaccination status and for all employees who can wear them. Staff no longer enter a guest’s room after check-in for room refreshes, instead providing replacement items upon request during the hours of 9:00am – 12:00pm to the room door. We thank you for your continued understanding and support as we all do our best to keep everyone safe and healthy.
