Our Rooms
The Rum Runner Inn occupies a pair of historic waterfront buildings that reflect Lunenburg's rich maritime heritage. The main building was once an integral part of the town's busy commercial waterfront, backing directly onto the railway tracks that served the harbour and local industries until 1966.
Constructed with an early structural steel frame, it was designed to create the large, open interior spaces needed for commercial and industrial operations—a progressive engineering approach that distinguished it from the traditional timber buildings surrounding it. Converted from its industrial roots into a hotel in the mid-to-late 20th century, the building has been thoughtfully adapted to provide comfortable accommodations while preserving its industrial character.
The adjoining Studio House, dating from 1879, has been remodelled to combine its historic charm with modern comforts, including contemporary bathrooms, compact kitchenettes, and bright south-facing rooms.
Each room is unique but all have the same comfortable feel. While we can't attach our magnificent view to every room, every room has the ability to access this relaxing seating area on the main veranda.
After an active day of adventures, you can unwind with the Roku TV available in every room, offering a wide range of streaming options. Simply sign in to your own accounts—such as Netflix, Prime Video, or Sportsnet—to enjoy your preferred shows, movies, or live sports. If you’d like to plan ahead, feel free to bring your login details with you.

Parking in Lunenburg
The town of Lunenburg has metered parking on the main streets in town, including Montague Street.
The rates are $2 per hour with a 4-hour maximum between the hours of 10am - 5pm.
If you already use the HotSpot parking app, no need to stock up on toonies.
Unlimited (and free!) parking is available on most side streets a short distance away.
Our town is has many one-way streets so it is a great idea to map your route prior to your arrival.
